Kenneth and Joan Sorum

Kenneth Sorum and Joan (Dahl) Sorum moved from Lignite, ND in the early 60s to Crosby, ND and opened a service station under what was Westland Oil Company at that time. They had two little ones when they moved and would eventually raise five kids in Crosby. Their names are Jocelyn, Jennifer, Heather, Kendall, and Jonathan. The movie includes stories of Kenny and Joan's younger lives and how they met and fell in love. They talk about raising their kids and grandkids and everything that came with that. Kenny talks in depth about his business Sorum's Westland Services that has been a staple of the community of Crosby for 70 years. Sorum's, or "The Station" as most of their family likes to call it, is still a full service shop that will pump your gas, wash your windows, and air up your tires if need be. They also change oil, mount new tires and fix leaky ones, and deliver fuel and propane, along with a myriad of other services. The Sorum's have raised an impressive family unit here in Crosby that values hard work and service to their community. There is a lot of interesting history packed into this film and a lot of lessons that can be learned.
