TIERANY JOHNSON

Creative. Professional. Detailed.

My name is Tierany Johnson and I grew up on a farm outside of Crosby, ND. I graduated from Divide County High School before going to college at NDSU in Fargo. I spend most of my days working on the farm outside of Ambrose, ND in the spring, summer, and fall, but I like to sneak in some of this more creative work in the winter and in-between time. I love all things nostalgia and anything old-fashioned with an added splash of modern. I thoroughly enjoy traveling, meeting new people, and making new friends.

I have always felt a strong passion for preserving family history. I feel we can learn a lot from those who came before us and we shouldn't let the lessons and stories of our ancestors be forgotten with time.

This all started with my Grandma Katie and me. When I was in college, I would always stop by her house on Sundays to say goodbye before driving back to Fargo. We would sit and talk for a few hours about her younger years and other family history. We were always very close so I was so terrified of losing her and not having any bit of her to enjoy once she was gone. I got the idea to do an actual structured video with her after I had recorded her voice with my phone a few times. I did my research, bought some equipment, and just showed up at her house one day during my spring break in 2019. We filmed it that day, I edited all the video, and then we showed the whole family at Easter. I can speak from experience to say how valuable a keepsake like this is after someone passes. We lost my grandma in January of 2022. Watching the video now brings me so much comfort and joy because it almost feels like she's still here talking to me. Everything about her funny, loving personality is present in the video. It is absolutely priceless.
