    John W. Benter

John Benter joined the Army two days after he graduated high school, shortly after the Americans joined WWII. He tells the story of his life including his childhood and adolescence on the farm, all his interesting war stories, his family life, and details about the restoration of numerous WWII military vehicles. He is a wealth of history and knowledge.

    The Bummer Family Farm

Three generations of Bummers tell the story of growing up on their farm and how they built it up to be what it is today. Many farming stories are told along with talks about past and present farming practices. It stars Landy Bummer, Diane (Benson) Bummer, Joshua Bummer, Amanda (Bummer) Sundberg, and Tessa (Bummer) Rindel. The grandkids make their film debut as well, including Kenley Sundberg, Breckyn Sundberg, Nash Sundberg, Stella Rindel, and Myles Rindel. There is a wealth of farming knowledge packed into this film and anyone interested in farming or looking to learn a little more about it would find it fascinating. Anyone who doesn't understand why farmers love what they do should watch this film. It totally encapsulates what it means to be a farmer and what it's like to grow up in that environment. This is a very special movie to me as I, Tierany Johnson, am a farmer myself and also grew up on a farm. Every single person in this movie was raised on a farm or is still being raised on one. It is truly interesting.

    Van Norby

Van Norby was born and raised outside of Larson, ND which is 20 miles east of Crosby. He just turned 100 this past year and he is still as sharp as ever. He lived through the Great Depression era on his family farm. He farmed his entire life up until he retired and moved to Crosby. Other than being a farmer, he is an extremely talented painter and artist. He tells about his entire life from his first memory as a toddler to now. He shares his intelligent thoughts and open-minded views throughout. He is a very interesting man.

    Wilbur Casteel

Wilbur Casteel was born and raised in Marshfield, Missouri. He joined the U.S. Air Force after he graduated high school and his first assignment was Fortuna, ND. Wilbur tells stories about his times working at the radar base west of Fortuna. He met his wife Beverly (formerly Overbo) in Crosby, ND during his time stationed in Fortuna. Together they raised three kids and moved around the United States, serving the Air Force, before they ultimately moved back to Crosby. Wilbur is a natural comic. He told many funny and interesting stories about his whole life that will have you laughing, and maybe even tearing up at times. He is quite the guy.

    Kenneth and Joan Sorum

Kenneth Sorum and Joan (Dahl) Sorum moved from Lignite, ND in the early 60s to Crosby, ND and opened a service station under what was Westland Oil Company at that time. They had two little ones when they moved and would eventually raise five kids in Crosby. Their names are Jocelyn, Jennifer, Heather, Kendall, and Jonathan. The movie includes stories of Kenny and Joan's younger lives and how they met and fell in love. They talk about raising their kids and grandkids and everything that came with that. Kenny talks in depth about his business Sorum's Westland Services that has been a staple of the community of Crosby for 70 years. Sorum's, or "The Station" as most of their family likes to call it, is still a full service shop that will pump your gas, wash your windows, and air up your tires if need be. They also change oil, mount new tires and fix leaky ones, and deliver fuel and propane, along with a myriad of other services. The Sorum's have raised an impressive family unit here in Crosby that values hard work and service to their community. There is a lot of interesting history packed into this film and a lot of lessons that can be learned.

The movies come on a 32GB USB drive that you can plug into your computer to watch. Each one will be on a separate drive. This package contains all five films for a discounted price.
